Timeless beauty: Jennifer Lopez’s stunning transformation over the years
Almost two years on from her split with Ben Affleck and with their divorce finalized last month, Jennifer Lopez is getting her life back on track.
Wearing a stunning black and gold Stephane Rolland dress, the actress and singer looked radiant at the recent Grammys – a world away from the last time she attended the ceremony with her then-husband. J-Lo and Affleck were seen in the middle of a frosty exchange of words during the ceremony – the singer apparently telling him to at least pretend he was enjoying himself.
The Let’s Get Loud singer tuned 55 last summer and continues to look ageless, denying claims that she has had work done. “For the 500 millionth time … I have never done Botox or any injectable or surgery!! Just sayin’.”
But we all change physically over the years and J-Lo naturally looks very different today to the 24-year-old who starred as Melinda Lopez in CBS’ drama Hotel Malibu in the mid-90s.
J-Lo’s up and down love life
Since then, she has become a household name and endured a tumultuous love life having been engaged, married, and divorced several times.
In February 1997, she married producer Ojani Noa but their relationship last just 11 months. Other men entered her life – Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Chris Judd, Mark Anthony… but none lasted.
Hit albums, films and awards
All the while her professional career went from strength to strength. J-Lo has released nine studio albums – her debut, On the 6 went 5× platinum in the US while her most album, last year’s This Is Me… Now debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200.
Her music career has earned her accolades including nine Billboard Latin Music Awards and three American Music Awards plus a host of nominations.
She has also established herself as one of Hollywood’s leading ladies, with an extensive filmography which includes roles in blockbusters such as My Family (1995), Selena (1997), Out of Sight (1998), The Wedding Planner (2001) and Maid in Manhattan (2002).
Not a fan of botox
In an interview with the Daily Mail to promote her new JLo Beauty products skincare range in December 2020, she explained why she’s never been tempted to undergo cosmetic procedures herself.
“I haven’t ever had Botox to this day – I’m not that person. I don’t have anything against people doing that – it’s just not my thing. I’m more about a natural approach to skincare … but I want [my skincare products] to work … I want the hyaluronic acid in there. I want the things that are going to help because I don’t want to have to go to the needles at some point.”

Lopez plays three characters (Spider Woman, Aurora, and Ingrid) in a new movie: Kiss of the Spider Woman – a feature adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical of the same name which is being produced by her ex Ben Affleck his close friend Matt Damon.
She has been waiting a long time for such a project to come up, as she told Variety last month: “I was waiting my whole life to be able to do a real big MGM Hollywood musical, and I finally got to do it. It was more (than I hoped). Me and Diego (Luna) were on set and we’re dancing around and we’re singing and looking at each other and it’s like we don’t want to do anything but musicals. Diego said that! Me too. I don’t want to do anything else.”
