Dua Lipa Gives Chocolate Brown the Party-Girl Treatment
She wowed in a mesh dress and chunky jewelry pulled straight from the Schiaparelli runway
Chocolate brown is everywhere this year, from Bella Hadid’s slinky top to Sydney Sweeney’s super-cinched corset, Zoe Saldaña’s sequined gown, and Jennifer Lopez’s baggy power suit. And now the rich hue is getting the party-girl treatment, courtesy of the radically optimistic Dua Lipa.
This Monday, the pop superstar wowed in a chocolate-brown mesh dress while at the 50th Chaplin Award Gala in New York City.

The dress was pulled straight from Daniel Roseberry’s Fall/Winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection for Schiaparelli. It was a semisheer, textured maxi dress with long sleeves that widen at the wrists and a plunging neckline that transforms into a row of oval cutouts held together by golden buttons. Lipa’s belly-button ring peeked out from one of the openings.

Lipa wore a matching thong under the dress and upped the ante with plenty of loud gold jewelry, also from Schiaparelli. The standout piece was a massive choker-style necklace with a deconstructed face that melted all the way down to Lipa’s bust. It was accented with white teardrop pearls and clear crystals.

Lipa wore dangly statement earrings to match—these featuring giant gold lips with a rainfall of white pearls.

Styled by Lorenzo Posocco, the “Houdini” singer wore the dress with black Mary Jane heels and a black Schiaparelli clutch embellished with a metallic golden splatter.

Lipa honored her friend, the director and screenwriter Pedro Almodóvar, at the Chaplin Award Gala—a fundraising event that honors the film industry’s most notable talents—which was held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
